PRAISE REPORT - February 26, 2007 (See Prayer Request - 01-17-07)
I would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued prayers. I am so thankful to be able to report that my father-in-law Hollis Crabtree is home and doing
as he loves to say " Fantastically Wonderful".
GOD is receiving all the glory for this one. Hollis was diagnosed with a skull based brain tumor on January 16-07.
I have seen GOD move in ways that I would have never thought possible. Not only are we celebrating Hollis's recovery but also his new lease on life and his love for Jesus Christ. Hollis will tell you himself that Angels surrounded him the entire time.
Not only has Hollis's life been changed but my husband Jeff re-dedicated his life on Sunday Feb 3-07, which is an answer to many prayers. It is amazing what GOD will do when "WE" step out of the way and allow HIM to work. An entire family has been affected by GOD's hands at work and I am so very thankful to have been a part of this onderful miracle.
Below is thank you notice that I have put in our local paper in Jamestown to express our heart felt thank you's to our community, our friends, and most of all to the prayer warriors who so faithfully prayed through out this trying time. Thank you from the depths of my heart.
THANK YOU -
Hollis and his family would like to sincerely express their heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you who have prayed during this difficult time. Many of you have called, sent cards, come to visit, prepared food, and, most of all, diligently prayed.
Six weeks ago, Hollis was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. The surgeon at Vanderbilt in Nashville stated that it must be removed. Two weeks ago, Hollis entered Vanderbilt to prepare for brain surgery. God blessed him with a Christian surgeon, Christian nurses and technicians. Hollis was surrounded by the Holy Spirit and His angels at all times. He had a very difficult two days post surgery. However, the faith never waivered! The prayers never ceased! The love never failed! And, God is receiving the glory for the amazing recovery of Hollis. Hollis is home and plans to go back to work at Potter’s in a few weeks.
Thank you so very much for your love, concern and prayers. God is good!

PRAISE REPORT - October 30, 2006 (See Prayer Request - 09/12/06)
Thank you for all of your prayers, phone calls and cards while Ellie was in the hospital. She hasn't had any more seizures since she was placed on the medicine September 19th. The doctor decreased her dosage last week and hopes that she will not be on it much longer. Thanks to you all for hitting your knees for us and lifting Ellie up to the Lord above. She is a normal crawling and trying to walk 7 month old now. William and I are so thankfull for each of you whether we have met you or not. We always know that each of you will take the time out to pray, even for people you do not know. We ask a special blessing for each of you. The power of prayer is amazing.
In His Name

PRAISE REPORT - October 3, 2006
(See Prayer Request - 09/26/06) Dad came through the surgery with flying colors. He was discharged the next day, and is back in Jamestown. Mom said dad had a rough night Saturday, and that he was hurting, but I am sure it pales in comparison to what he was suffering before the surgery. The thing I reminded mom about was that the nurse told us dad would be feeling this pain the day after the surgery, so like I told my mom, this just proves dad is a little slower than most people! Mom laughed over that, and said she couldn't wait for him to wake up so she could use it on him. Dad was prepared to go home, but the Lord must have more work for him here on earth. While he is here, I'm going to enjoy it, and watch God's work being done. When dad does complete his assignment, I'll celebrate what was accomplished. Thanks for the prayers.

PRAISE REPORT - July 31, 2006(See Prayer Request - 06/04/06) Greetings Emmaus Community,
I want to thank the Emmaus Community for all their prayers and support. June 3rd, 2006 my daughter and 4 year old granddaughter Kimberly and Sarah Wyatt were brutally murdered in Cumberland County. This is the worst thing that we could ever have imagined but sometimes bad things happen to good people. God has worked in our lives and I have been shown things that I could not have understood before this tragedy. I realize now that I have absoluely no control over events but my God is in total control. Someone said the other day "How could a loving God take those girls?" God didn't take my girls, Satan came to kill, steal, and destroy, Satan is our enemy! God will use this tragedy for good and many people have been touched since this horrible tragedy. The very next day 3 young men, including my deceased daughter's husband were born again. Thank you Father God!

I wanted to thank everyone for praying for Jennifer. I believe God has intervened in her life. She was arrested for drugs a couple of weeks ago. She thought she would be able to walk away from this just like every other time but prayers were answered in this. When she was arrested, she weighed less than a 100 pounds and was very malnourished. This helped the judge and the DA to see that she was in dire need of help. Though she denied she had any problem, God has made a way for her to receive desperately needed help. She was sentenced to a year at a Christian-based treatment center in Kentucky and I want to praise God for that. I ask that you keep praying for her -that this time will open her eyes and her heart to receive salvation and healing from God. We, her family, truly believe that it is only God's mercy and prayer that has kept her alive this long. Thank you so much for praying for her.

Subject: What a relief!
Dr. Prasad called yesterday morning to say that a spot was lighting up on Allison's bone scan. This was not at all what we wanted to hear. When I called back to talk to her she had spoken with Dr. Schwartz. By that time, he had had a chance to view the pictures and he thought that the spot was "most likely" a stress fracture. We had her at the hospital early this morning to repeat the X-rays and CT scans. We spoke to Dr. Prasad a few minutes ago and the new pictures confirm that the spot is a stress fracture. If you are wondering what that noise was, it was us PRAISING GOD!
Thanks again for your prayers.

July 14, 2006 The "No More Chemo" Song
There was a cake and the nurses gathered around to sing. To the tune of the Oscar Meyer jingle "My bologny has a first name":
Our patients have the cutest S M I L E's.
Our patients have the biggest H E A R T's.
Oh, we love to see you everyday,
But now it's time for us to say,
Pack your bags, head out the door,
You don't get chemo anymore!
What a wonderful song to hear, but, of course, Allison cried. Lori cried. The nurses cried. I cried. We have all grown close to the nurses at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Allison has really become attached to several of the nurses. And the receptionists (especially Angel.) I have been meaning to tell you all a little about the nursing staff at VCH.
You would expect to have good, professional nurses working at a world-class facility like VCH and that is what we expected. What we didn't expect was the love that each of these nurses shares with their patients. No matter what they are paid it isn't enough. They give away their hearts to their patients, to all their patients, not just the ones that are doing well like Allison. Their care and attention to Allison isn't all. They also gave detailed instructions to Lori and me for caring for Allison at home. Giving shots, changing the dressing, caring for the Hickman central line. Those things were complicated at first but we knew what to do because of their help. We will always be grateful and will always remember the wonderful nurses at VCH. Allison's first set of post-treatment scans will be this Monday, July 10. (Please pray!)
God willing, they will be clear (not only Monday but from now on) and on Thursday, July 13 we will have surgery to remove the Hickman central line. One year ago, on July 8th we found out that Allison had a tumor. This has been one long year. Thank you all for standing with us through this year and for praying for us. Please continue to pray that the cancer will never return. I want you all to know that I give praise to God for helping us to find the cancer early, and for keeping it from spreading. Her leg hurt for 9 months before the tumor was found and only God kept it from spreading. The "No More Chemo" song is wonderful but His praise will continually be in my mouth. Much love,
Wes Rogers PRAISE REPORT - May 14, 2006 (See Prayer Request dated 05/11/06)My mom's test came back on Thursday night as all tissue around the tumor was clear and nothing in the lymph nodes. Praise the Lord!!! My father-in-law's surgery went very well but no results until Tues or Wed. He is in a great deal of pain but the doctor said he felt really good about it because he did not see any spreading to other organs with just his eyes. Thank you for your prayers!!!!
Sandy Conatser PRAISE REPORT - March 14, 2006 (See Prayer Request dated 10/16/05) I want to give a Praise Report for Randy Vaughn. After several months spent in the hospital, Randy is now at home and doing well. He is still not eating solid foods, but Glory be to God at least he is home. Let's continue to keep Randy and his family lifted up in our prayers, for it was our prayers that has brought him home. "For we walk by faith and not by sight." Amy Dishman
Emmaus Walk #48 PRAISE REPORT - February 10, 2006 (See Prayer Request dated 01/20/06)
James Wells received a good report following his surgery. There were no cancer cells found in the lymph glands removed during his most recent surgery. No additional treatment is needed and his prognosis is good--praise the Lord! James says once the soreness from his surgery goes away, he plans to dance and sing God's praises!
