Prayer Request -March 13,2009
I am passing along a prayer request of Daphne Wright. Her cousin's husband, Bob Crandall has cancer and it is spreading quickly. Vikki is desperate for people who will pray for him - those who also believe that God answers prayer and that He still heals. If you think of him, please lift him up. He had a liver transplant some years ago and it may have begun from his anti-rejection medicine. Following is the prayer request from Vikki.

Hello Everyone,

I learned this a.m. that one of our sisters, Velvet York, of Walk 65 in Livingston has had a house fire. It seems the fire started from a parked vehicle in the garage of the house that caused explosions causing the house to be engulfed in flames. I understand some possessions were saved as well as part of the house. However, this is a devastating thing to happen to anyone and especially here at the holiday season.

I am asking us as brothers and sisters to lift the York's up in prayer as they face this hard time.

Prayer Request - September 19, 2008: OK. This is a praise and prayer request! Sheila has been to the doctor and she is doing much better. Her stress test was good. Her doctor gave her the OK for surgery on her foot next Friday. They had been waiting to see if the bone would heal without the surgery. She also said that David is doing better as well. They are taking it easy and PRAISING GOD FOR HIS BLESSINGS.

Please remember to say a prayer Sheila's surgery next Friday.

Prayer Request-August 21, 2008:I have broken my left foot at work. I am in a cast from my toes to my knee. I will be returning to the orthopedic doctor on Sept.2nd. If the bone is healing as they would like, I will just have to wear the cast 4 more weeks. If it isn't healing correctly, they will do surgery and put a screw in the bone. Please pray for healing for me. The hard part for me is I have to be down and cannot do much for myself or anyone else.I'm not allowed to put my foot on the floor.

Prayer Request-July 6, 2008: The doctors removed 96% of the mass from behind Ellen's eye and I'm not sure what they are doing on the lung mass. Ellen did really well and was talking to everyone in the ICU after surgery. She has a Caring Bridge address where you can go on the web and send her well wishes. It is www.caringbridge.org/visit/ellendickenson . People can use this address to leave her messages and prayers, etc. That would really be good.

Please be in prayer for Ellen Dickenson. Pastor Stewart is in Nashville with Ellen. There is an approximately 4.5 cm mass behind her right eye and they have found a spot on her lung. They are doing tests on her lungs today and her brain tomorrow. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

PRAYER REQUEST - 3-31-08: Allison Rogers is the eight year old daughter of Wes and Lorie Rogers who is
under going treatment for bone cancer in her left femur. Allison had this
same cancer some three years ago but now it has returned and we are seeking
the prayers of the Emmaus community to intercede on her behalf. There will
be a special prayer for anyone who wishes to come at one of the Methodist
churches in Cookeville on May 31st but the surgery will take place on the
19th of May but I feel that we need those prayer worriers at work now.
Please place Allison on your prayer list's and hold her up to God for now
and the future and you will be rewarded ten fold.

PRAYER REQUEST - 2-12-08: I would like for you all to be in prayer for my family. We lost my cousin B.J. Chaffin on Friday. He died in an automobile accident. He was 25. Especially be in prayer for my aunt and uncle during this difficult time.

Praise Report: I had asked you all to be in prayer for a family friend, Webb Craighead. He has recently finished his last treatment and the last scan that has been completed on his brain came back fine. He has one more scan to go but the news looks great at this point. PRAYER REQUEST - 1-24-08:Allison is to stay inactive and on crutches until Feb. 11. If the pain and spot on the x-rays have not gone away, she will have to undergo surgery again. This will be for bone biopsy. That requires putting her to sleep and cutting to the bone where they extract a chip of the bone. She had this once before and it required a long time to heal. That was before she had the surgery to remove her bone and replace it with a donor bone. Please, please pray and get your Christian friends praying for Allison -- and for Wes and Lori.

PRAYER REQUEST - 1-22-08: Bro. Jim Rogers has requested that we be in prayer for his granddaughter Allison Rogers. Allison has been experiencing some discomfort in her leg. The doctors have ran a CT Scan and found a spot on the bone. Allison has battled cancer at the young age of six near the same spot on the CT Scan. The doctor says there is a possibility that it could be a fracture from a sport injury. Please be in prayer for young Allison that the Lord will heal her precious body. Thank you!

PRAYER REQUEST - 12/10/07:I would like to ask you all to be in prayer for a family friend of mine. His name is Webb Craighead. He had a cancerous brain tumor removed last week. The doctors say that they have removed all that the eye can see. He is going to have to take radiation but not chemotherapy at this time.

PRAYER REQUEST - 11/3/07:Please continue to pray for Ms Wanda, the family, Dr's & nurses..
They are each facing a very difficult time now, please lift each of them up and place them in GOD's healing hands..... pray for GOD's healing power over Ms. Wanda
Below is an update on how she is doing as of Friday nite......
Philip spent last night in Knoxville at Cortney's house, and as he drove to the hospital this morning praying, he was blank. He simply told the Lord that we wanted a miracle today. When he arrived for the first visit of the morning, he was talking to Wanda Gail. She opened her eyes (which she also did yesterday, but they were still sort of blank) and said through the ventilator tube "I can't breathe". He was so stunned that she spoke that the actual words didn't register for a moment. He got the nurse and she did the suction thing. Then they asked Wanda Gail to move her left foot, and she did. Then she squeezed with her left hand. Miracle upon miracle - that side hasn't moved since the accident 8 days ago!!!
Her numbers were good, so the ventilator was removed at 11am. It's now 8:30 and she's still doing well. She recognized all of us today, spoke consistently and with more and more strength as the day went on. She told us what she wanted and responded to our words. No mistake - she's still very weak and doesn't really know why she's there. She kept saying she wants to go home. She's still hurting and very anxious. Added to that, they told us today that we have to wear gowns and gloves to visit because she's tested positive for MRSA. She continues to have some issues with her blood pressure, and the MRI showed that she's had a stroke, though they aren't sure whether it caused the accident or happened in the hospital.
Despite the hurdles yet to be overcome, we received our miracle today. Wanda Gail is back :) God is truly good, ALL the time. He has been our strength and our refuge, and He is being glorified through this trial. Please continue to pray for Wanda Gail, her doctors, her family. We seek to be His witness and a living testimony to His grace as all of us walk through the coming days.

PRAYER REQUEST - 10/26/07:Emergency prayer request for Wanda Gail Burnett. Here is a copy of the email that I received this morning: "please be in much prayer for Wanda Gail Burnett who was seriously injured in a 4-wheeler accident this afternoon Oct 25th. She was airlifted to UT directly from the accident site. We were told tonight that she suffered head trauma as well as other injuries." She is the mother of Todd Burnett, Phillip Burnett, & Chris Henderson and mother in law to Tracey Burnett, Jane Burnett & Dewona Henderson. Please be in prayer for the healing of Ms Wanda and for strength for the entire family as they face this critical time.

PRAYER REQUEST - 08/01/07:Please be in prayer for Tom Howard - he sustained an injury to his left knee on Friday July 27. Originally it was thought to be a dislocated knee cap but the follow up visit with the orthopedic specialist on Monday the 30th revealed an infrapatellar tendon rupture (the tendon below the knee cap). Surgery was arranged that day and during surgery it was also discovered that Tom had sustained a small fracture to the end of the left femur. He is in a lot of pain and will be out of work for quite some time. He was injured playing basketball with our youngest son's team to help give the boys a little competition - it looks like the no more basketball in Tom's future! Please pray for quick healing and comfort as this has been and is quite painful. I know that God will use this situation to grow Tom and our family but it's difficult to see the good when you are in the midst of the pain! Thank you all for your love - and most of all for the prayers. I know many prayers will be said on our behalf. We love our Emmaus family and are so blessed by each of you!

This is very hard for his father, Gerald and his mother Beverly. Please keep them in your hearts today.

PRAYER REQUEST - 1/02/2007: Please pray for Rob Medley and his family. He was in an automobile accident Saturday evening on his way home from Chrysalis. He is in Vanderbilt hospital with head and ear lacerations and a neck injury. It is a miracle from God that he survived the accident and has no paralysis.
